We all have a desire for love.  This connection is the most basic of human spiritual / psychic needs and the true nature of Source Energy.  I refer not to just emotional love, but expansive, creative love which leads to joy. 

First and foremost however, is self-love. Self-love is making contact with the truth of your connection with Source Energy and thus, with all of life. With apologies to Jerry Maguire, you cannot expect another make you complete. It implies insecurity with who you are, a lack of wholeness. On the other hand, once you begin to appreciate your own unique qualities, your energy begins to attract the vibrations of others who are similarly attuned.

However, many of us don’t appreciate who we are because we don’t actually know ourselves very well. We often conform to the expectations of others in one way or another, sometimes unconsciously. It begins of necessity perhaps when we’re children, but the habit, like most habits, continues long after its usefulness ceases to serve us. If we haven’t taken the time to know ourselves then we will find we attract almost any match, but not the right one. Appreciating who we really are and feeling good about it carries a great energetic attraction.

Unfortunately, memories from less suitable relationships leave a trail of “energy debris” keeping us from attracting and then making more suitable choices. Negative thoughts automatically invade our consciousness, and most times we fail to examine their validity. Perhaps you’ve even arrived at the belief that a good relationship is impossible. This attention on a negative outcome will keep you locked in alignment with the energy of your thought. You may have experienced, for instance, that the right person came along at the wrong time. This is because your energetic vibrations were not in alignment.

The good news is that there really are other right matches and you will come to appreciate this fact. If you live in fear that you’ll “never find another like” him or her, you lower your vibration to meet your expectations. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Have you ever looked at a couple and thought “How did they wind up together when they don't seem like they'd be each other's type?”  They’re an energetic match.
